[edit] Wustl Ride Finder

This is a website where students can post car rides if they have extra room to transport cargo and passengers.
Other students can then search for a ride when if they need to carpool to get home.

[edit] Features

- Users post trips they're taking and how many passengers they can take along
- Allows users to search for people taking trips near their destination
- Uses Google Maps API to graphically display trips on the search results page and on ride detail pages.
- Users can post the origin, destination, and start date of their trip, as well as the number of open seats, the amount of cargo space, the type of vehicle, the amount of compensation they're looking for, and a brief text description of the ride.
- Users search by specifying their ideal trip (origin, destination, and date) as well as specifying a desired search radius and how to sort the results.
- Users can contact ride providers via a message system on the site, this way the ride provider doesn't have to reveal their email address unless they choose to respond to a message.
- RSS feeds for search results provide an easy way to be notified when newly posted trips match your search.
- The maps are resizeable and more options come up when you enlarge them
- Javascript provides feedback about bad input on the registration page
- AJAX verifies addresses client-side while adding a ride or configuring a search
