Our project will allow users to create their own playlists online, uploading the individual songs or an M3U to our servers (or possibly another server). The user who creates the playlist will then be able to log in and listen to the playlist from anywhere using a embedded Flash player. Other users of our website will be able to view the playlists and play all songs on it that they have uploaded themselves (the system will play the copy of the song that the user has uploaded to help deal with copyright issues).

Users will then be able to rate each others’ playlists using a 5-star system as well as comment on them with text. Users will be able to bring up information on artists from Wikipedia. This information will appear in a panel that users will be able to hide / show with a button-click. This will run on our end using AJAX.
